At night, drivers see light. Not motorcycles.

At night, drivers see light. Not motorcycles.

The car behind you is closing fast. The driver is half-watching the road. Your tail light is just one red light. To his brain, that could be a car very far away, or a car with a busted bulb a long way back. He doesn't know what you are. By the time he figures it out, it's too late.

The reflective panels on the back of this bag aren't a tail light. They catch his headlight and bounce the beam straight back as bright white, right at his windshield height. He brakes long before he reaches you. You ride home.

Reflective on the back, both sides and both shoulder straps. Seen from behind, beside and head-on.
Sore shoulders. Helmet knocking the bag. There's a better way.

Sore shoulders. Helmet knocking the bag. There's a better way.

Normal backpacks weren't built for a jacket with armor in it. The straps sit too narrow, the chest strap doesn't reach, and every time you tuck, your helmet smacks the top of the bag.

This one was built on the bike. Wide padded straps clear your jacket. The extra-long chest strap takes the weight off your shoulders. The top is shaped so your helmet never touches it. Riders in airbag vests and full leathers say it fits with room to spare, and the slim profile means the wind can't grab it.

Fits over any riding jacket, airbag vest included.

    Love this stuff...all of it!

So far everything I've bought from Motoloot has been high quality and very functional. The bike gloves are really good with the magnetic latch and I use the backpack everyday for carrying my work gear. You can buy with confidence.

    My go-to bag!

This is BY FAR my favorite backpack. I own a ridiculous number of backpacks, but this one has become my absolute go-to.

Since I commute to work on my bike during the summer, I need something that can carry everything I need without feeling like I’m hauling a suitcase on my back. This thing delivers. 35L of capacity gives me plenty of room for my laptop, a change of clothes, electronics, and all the other random goodies I inevitably end up carrying. The side pouches are perfect for water bottles and quick-access stuff.

And the extras you get at this price? 35L with all of this included is practically unheard of. The zippers and straps are easy to access—even with riding gloves on—which is a huge plus.

    Now let’s talk about visibility.

I’m pretty sure this backpack is made from radioactive material because this thing makes you GLOW. 😂 It absolutely stands out. I had a driver sitting behind me at a stoplight compliment me on how bright and visible I was. He was genuinely amazed that he could clearly see a motorcycle rider in front of him.

That is a HUGE plus in my safety book. Anything that helps make me more visible to drivers is worth its weight in gold.

My only little gripe—and this may honestly be a me problem—is that when I cinch the shoulder straps down under my arms, the neck area gets pulled in a bit and can feel tight/uncomfortable. Maybe I just need to stop cranking those straps down like I’m securing cargo for a hurricane. 😅

Overall: Safety. Comfort. Visibility. Utility. Capacity.

I absolutely love this bag and would highly recommend it to any rider looking for a seriously useful commuter backpack.

    A+++from me. 🏍️💨🔥

I love this bag I use it every ride that I need

I love this bag I use it every ride that I need to carry anything or go to the store. I love how reflective it is making me more noticeable at night! It is so big I am able to fit so much and the way it lays on my back it distributes the weight really well. The zippers feel sturdy and easy to zip and unzip. I’d recommend this bag to anyone that rides and uses a backpack.

    So far so good!

The reflective bag. (Quick shipping) And wow is it reflective! The bag itself Appears to be durable & well made. Im curious to see if the reflective material will scratch or peel off, time will tell.
A few thoughts here : the bladder and back protector dont have separate compartments so if you opted for both, the protector will sit in the sleeve & the bladder will hang in one of your storage zones.( It has a loop to hold it).
Not problematic, just something to be aware of. It has plenty of separation inside both major zipper compartments , great for camera equipment.
The shoulder straps are thick and comfortable alleviating the load of the pack, one time they did rub on my neck a bit. Not annoying, easy to adjust.
I was worried the bag would be to big, Its not, & certainly not to small. Its a great size for a everyday commuter. Did i mention how incredibly reflective it is?
I like the side and rear quick access pockets. Also the hidden bottom compartment, great for.. hiding. It also has a water proof cover in there too.

If i could change anything about the bag, id add some type of attachment to slide the bag over or even around a sissy bar/ back rest. For the Harley/ cruiser community.
Id also make the inside of the bag a bright color. Anything other then black.

Im happy with the purchase and look forward to seeing what else motoloot produces.

    Amazing looking bag!!

Got mine I love how it looks and how big the bag is letting me be able to haul around the small essentials I use for work. Also can attach the key tags to the bag so I’m very happy of that.

    Buy the Glowrider now

My husband rides a black XSR900 in a black hoodie and a black helmet. Before this backpack, the only thing you could see at night was his taillight. Once he put the Glowrider on and took off, I was blown away. He went from practically disappearing to being noticeable from a distance. Now I'm ordering a second one because there's no way he's giving it back.

    Winter visibility

I bought this backpack to increase my visibility on the work commute. After putting it on, I noticed a distinct decrease in the close calls. The fit is comfortable, and it handled a short stint through light rain without damaging the contents. I would definitely recommend wearing reflective gear during the darker months.

    Amazingly spacious

My oversized 17" laptop barely fit my old bag. In this one it fits with ample room to zip up without coaxing, plus all my work gear. Now the drivers in my area can see me clearly, and I no longer need quantum math to fit everything in.

Best backpack in 8 years of riding

I'm a big guy at 5'11" and 280 and this fits great over my shoulders and my Helite airbag jacket. The pockets are huge and I easily fit everything I need. It lights up like a Christmas tree at night. You might think it's expensive, but it's the last riding backpack you'll ever need.

Super reflective, could use a bit more structure

I'm a retroreflector geek and was concerned about how good the reflectivity would be. It's great. I ordered it with the back protector, which is a solid value. Built well for the price, though I wish it had a bit more structure and a couple more internal organisation options.

    Brian · Sherwood Park, AB

Real Judge.me reviews of this backpack, lightly trimmed for length.

    From Chris. Founder, MotoLoot.

"Riders die because drivers don't see us. Most drivers in motorcycle crashes tell the police the same thing: 'I didn't see him.' Most of those crashes happen in low light. That's the entire reason I created the Glowrider reflective line.

Google 'motorcycle backpack' and every result is black. Black bag, black jacket, black bike, at dusk. So I built the backpack I wanted for my own commute: the biggest reflective panels I could fit on it, straps that clear a helmet and a jacket, and room for a laptop and a change of clothes. Hundreds of riders have reviewed it since. I read every one."

    From Chris. Founder, MotoLoot.

    Common questions

Why is it better than other motorcycle backpacks?
    1. It helps you survive by making drivers notice you. Google "motorcycle backpack" and you'll notice the others are mostly black. Hard for drivers to see during the day, almost impossible at night. This one has the largest reflective panels of any motorcycle backpack, on the back, both sides and both shoulder straps.
    2. It's built for a riding jacket. Wide padded straps that fit over armor, and an extra-long chest strap that actually closes over a jacket and takes the weight off your shoulders.
    3. No helmet bump. The straps sit low and the top of the bag is shaped so your helmet clears it when you tuck. Riders coming from normal backpacks say this is the thing they notice first.
    4. Nothing flaps. Slim aerodynamic profile with elastic keepers on every strap end, so the wind can't grab the bag or whip a strap into your arm.
    5. Easy with gloves on. Genuine YKK zippers with oversized pulls you can hook with a gloved finger.
    How much can it hold?

35 liters. Here's what riders typically carry:

    • A laptop up to 17" in the padded sleeve
    • A change of clothes, lunch and a rain jacket in the main compartment
    • Phone and wallet in the back-wall pockets, chargers and keys in the front organiser
    • An action camera or bottle in each side pocket

One reviewer fits two 12-packs. Another packed for a weekend away.

    Will my laptop fit?

Yes, up to 17". The padded sleeve sits against your back so the laptop stays flat and protected. If you add the back protector, it slides into the same sleeve in front of the laptop.

Will it fit over my jacket and armor?

Yes, that's how it's designed to be worn. The straps are wide and padded to sit over textile or leather jackets, and the chest strap is extra long so it closes over armor. One reviewer at 5'11" and 280 lb wears it over an airbag jacket with room to spare.

Will my helmet bump the bag when I tuck?

No. The shoulder straps are designed to sit low and the top of the bag is shaped so your helmet clears it, even fully tucked on a sportbike.

Can I carry my helmet on it?

Yes. There's an external loop on the backpack. Thread your helmet's chin strap through it and the helmet hangs from the bag when you're off the bike.

    What's the back protector?

An optional CE Level 2 certified back protector, the higher of the two impact ratings. It slides into the laptop sleeve so it sits flat against your spine, flexes with your back, and adds real protection without a strap-on vest. Pick the "+ Protector" or "+ Both" option above to add it.

How does the hydration reservoir work?

The optional 2L bladder is food-grade TPU. It hangs from the loops inside the bag, and the insulated tube routes out through the slot in the shoulder strap to a glove-friendly locking bite valve. Quick-connect fitting for easy refills. Pick the "+ Reservoir" or "+ Both" option above to add it.

    Does it glow?

It's extremely reflective, but it doesn't emit light itself. In daylight the panels are a light grey. The moment a headlight touches them, they bounce the light straight back at its source and you light up bright white. No batteries, nothing to charge.

    Is it waterproof?

The bag itself is water resistant, so your gear stays dry through light showers and quick rain bursts. A waterproof rain cover is included and stowed in the pocket at the base of the bag. Pull it over the bag for heavier rain or longer wet rides.

Is it hard or soft shell?

Somewhere in between. It's not a hard shell, but the 1680D ballistic nylon holds its shape better than normal floppy backpacks.
