This chest rig is extremely reflective, but does not emit light itself.

It's a mix between soft and hard. It's not a hard shell, but holds its shape better than normal floppy soft chest rigs.

In order to keep it lightweight and comfortable, it does not have protection. The entire inner surface is covered by comfortable foam and air mesh.

Short answer: It is water resistant. This means your stuff will stay dry during light showers.

Detailed answer: Waterproofness is a scale. At one end you have containers you can take scuba diving. At the other you have 'your shit will get wet'.

Generally, the more waterproof something is, the harder it is to open and close and the less user-friendly it is.

I didn't want to create something that is so difficult to open that you wouldn't want to use it.

Therefore, I've tried to balance user-friendliness with water-resistance.

The entire rig surface is covered by reflective material that is water-resistant; the zips are YKK AquaGuard; and the seams are constructed to ensure maximum water resistance.

This all means that this rig is water-resistant in light showers. However, if you ride through a storm, or in light rain for a long time, the contents inside may get wet.

It will fit fine if your jacket has a small hump. However, if your jacket or race suit has a moto GP sized hump, the rig will not fit.

Impressed!!

At 1st I was hesitant on getting the chest rig, but finally pulled the trigger. Sadly. The day it got to my house (February 5th), I came home from work, threw it on and went on ride. I didn’t even make it 5 minutes before a deer ran out in front of me, on a road that’s 50 mph and I clipped the deer, causing me to fly over my handle bars and I landed on my chest side, started to slide and roll about 20 or so feet. When I got up I analyzed myself, my bike, and my gear. With the chest rig being the 1st thing. And I’m impressed at how well it held up against the Texas road and everything inside was perfectly fine. It only received a small tear (as seen in photo), some scuff marks, and some dirty spots. Still reflective in the scuff mark areas and can’t wait to get my bike fixed and be able to actually enjoy it!

Great quality product with high visibility!

I am very impressed by the quality of this vest. As stated it has a very high visibility. The pocket is easily accessible and the zippers are closing smoothly. It is waterproof so your goods don't get wet. As a smaller guy (5'7") the straps aren't fitting as good even if tightened all the way and you have a lot of access strap left but that's not avoidable. With the motorcycle jacket on it fits way better. I can definitely recommend it to anyone riding a bike :)

My chest rig came in last night, but today was my first day riding with it on. It's so lightweight and I just love it and can't imagine riding without it. Before I had a backpack on and the wind pulling down on it was just painful on my back. Again, moto loot never disappoints. Would recommend getting one of these.

It is perfect for conceal carry but what I didn't think about is how wide the shoulder straps would be. It is perfect on my son that is 5'11 and large frame but for my 5 nothing frame it would be nice to have narrow shoulder straps like the other straps. It is no fault of theirs and I am still very happy about my purchase! I was more worried about my "girls" being in the way but this sits perfectly over them and still have plenty of strap left. I would recommend this for anybody that just wants something smaller then the backpack while riding.
